The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools. Around 1,300 students from over 40 nations attend our school. In the German International Branch, we prepare our students for the German International Abitur. GSIS is a Swiss school abroad recognized by the Swiss Confederation and receives support for its educational and cultural work in accordance with Article 14 of the Swiss Schools Abroad Act.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced leader to head the primary level in the German International Branch.

Your tasks

In this role, you will bear pedagogical and organizational responsibility for the primary level (DVOR to K04) and support the school management of the German International Branch in the strategic development of the area. Your tasks will include, in particular:

• Leadership and development of the primary school team as well as support and promotion of teachers

• Planning and conducting employee meetings, classroom observations, and in-house training

• Participation in the recruitment and onboarding of new teachers

• Further development of the educational concept of the primary level as well as the design of the transition from kindergarten to primary school (“educational house” approach)

• Collaboration with coordinators, kindergarten and school management to ensure a coherent educational program

• Responsibility for administrative processes as well as participation in timetable planning and school year planning

• Maintaining cooperation with parents, school committees and external partners

The position also includes a teaching obligation of approximately 8 lessons per week.

Your profile

You have completed teacher training for primary school and/or hold a Master's degree in Educational Sciences with a focus on early childhood education, or have a comparable qualification. Ideally, you also possess the following:

• Several years of teaching experience as well as experience in educational leadership

• Knowledge of German or Swiss educational standards

• Experience in designing transitions between kindergarten and primary school

• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills

• Enjoyment of working in an international environment

• Very good German skills and a willingness to further develop your English skills
