Tätigkeitsprofil:

  • accurately input and update data within the IUCN Species Information Service (SIS) system, ensuring all information is current, comprehensive, and adheres to established guidelines
  • gather data on target species to complete Red List assessments
  • maintain accurate records of species that have been listed and identify those that still need to be listed, ensuring the database is up to date and complete
  • interact with expert researchers from around the world to support species assessments
  • support volunteers, interns, and students contributing to assessments

Anforderungsprofil:

  • interest in the biology and conservation of marine invertebrate species, with a keen interest in understanding the IUCN Red List process and its significance
  • passion for orderly and complete documentation and attention to detail; editorial experience ensuring consistency in spelling and formatting
  • experience in organising and managing documentation and data, e.g. spreadsheets
  • familiarity with scientific terminology and the ability to efficiently search for, interpret, and compile relevant information from scientific literature
  • fluency in English

Desireable skills (not mandatory)

  • experience or training in marine biology, conservation biology, or a related field
  • knowledge of the German language
  • familiarity with the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria; experience with Red List assessment processes
