Primary school teacher and coordinator – German International Branch

The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools. Around 1,300 students from over 40 nations attend our school. In the German International Branch, we prepare our students for the German International Abitur. GSIS is a Swiss school abroad recognized by the Swiss Confederation and receives support for its educational and cultural work in accordance with Article 14 of the Swiss Schools Abroad Act.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated and qualified primary school teacher (grades 1-4) who will also take on coordinating tasks.

Your tasks

In this dual role, you will teach in the primary school and simultaneously support the primary school management in organizational and pedagogical tasks. Your responsibilities will include, in particular:

• Primary school lessons (approx. 16 lessons per week)

• Participation in the further development of the primary school concept and in the transition from kindergarten to primary school ("educational center" approach)

• Support with administrative tasks such as timetable planning, substitute teacher organization and report card preparation

• Promoting the well-being of pupils and implementing the school's child protection guidelines

• Participation in the design of lessons and school activities related to Switzerland, as well as the integration of selected Swiss learning content into the international school context

Your profile

You have completed teacher training for primary school and/or hold a Master's degree in Educational Sciences with a focus on early childhood education, or have a comparable qualification. Ideally, you also possess the following:

• Several years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school environment

• Knowledge of German or Swiss educational standards

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Enjoyment of working in an international environment

• Very good German skills and a willingness to further develop your English skills
