Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Cancer Immunology & Metabolism
Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Cancer Immunology & Metabolism
Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) is one of the largest universities in Germany. Thanks to its location in the Rhine-Main science region, the university can unfold to its full potential and showcase its innovative power and dynamism. Its status as a comprehensive university allows for multidisciplinary learning and teaching and has great potential for internationally renowned, interdisciplinary research. Almost all of its institutes are located on a single campus close to the Mainz city center – creating a lively academic culture for researchers, teaching staff, and students from every continent.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the laboratory of Dr. Anne Régnier-Vigouroux at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The successful candidate will work at the interface of cancer biology, immunology, and metabolism, investigating tumour-associated microglia/macrophages (TAMs) as therapeutic targets in glioblastoma.
Our research explores how inflammatory and metabolic adaptations shape TAM function during tumor progression and how targeting mitochondrial function and reactive oxygen species (ROS) signalling in tumour and immune cells can enhance anti-tumour responses. Particular emphasis is placed on cellular adaptation to physiologically relevant oxygen conditions (physioxia vs. hypoxia).
The project combines patient-derived 3D tumour models, advanced molecular and metabolic analyses, and preclinical mouse glioma models.
