The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools. Around 1,300 students from over 40 nations attend our school. In the German International Branch, we prepare our students for the German International Abitur. GSIS is a Swiss school abroad recognized by the Swiss Confederation and receives support for its educational and cultural work in accordance with Article 14 of the Swiss Schools Abroad Act.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated teacher for the subjects Geography or History in the secondary level in the German International Branch.

Your tasks

You will teach geography or history in the German International Branch and guide students on their path to the German International Abitur. You will design differentiated and challenging bilingual lessons and foster the individual learning processes of the students. Your tasks will include, in particular:

• Planning and implementation of a professionally sound and methodologically diverse lesson

• Supporting students according to their individual abilities and learning needs

• Application of modern teaching and assessment methods

• Collaboration within the department and active participation in the faculty

• Planning and implementation of a professionally sound and methodologically diverse bilingual curriculum

• Participation in school activities and projects

Your profile

You have completed teacher training for secondary education (Germany, Switzerland, or Austria) and ideally have bilingual teaching experience in geography or history. Ideally, you also possess the following:

• Sound professional knowledge and high methodological and didactic competence

• Experience in secondary school teaching

• Very good German language skills and the ability to teach in the German curriculum

• Very good English skills, both spoken and written
